Uvita
This area includes numerous, beautiful beach areas, and lucious, mountain view properties!

Uvita is known for its incredibly pristine (and almost always unpopulated) beaches, incredible waterfalls (the tallest in the country), as well as for being the heart and commercial center of the astoundingly beautiful Costa Ballena region. Located just a half-hour South of the most popular National Park in the country (Manuel Antonio), this rapidly-growing area has many incredible real estate investment opportunities to be discovered.

Ranging from the Bohemian surf mecca of Dominical in the North to the culinary zone of Ojochal in the South, the Costa Ballena is a very biologically-diverse and topographically-impressive region. With elevations on the Fila Costanera mountain range exceeding 2,000 feet within one mile of the coast, this area of the Pacific coast boasts some of the best sunset and coastal views in all of Costa Rica. With the added bonus of cool mosquito-free nights by easily gaining ground into the higher elevations (yet still just minutes from the beach), this highly sought-after area has good reason for being the fastest-growing area in the country.

Marino Ballena National Park, located in Bahia Ballena (“whale’s bay” in Spanish), just West of the main commercial center of Uvita, is home to the famous Whale’s Tail reef formation, which creates the world’s third-largest sandbank (with a length of 2,296 feet and a width of 820 feet). This National Park encompasses approx. 13,500 acres, most of which is in the maritime zone surrounding the beautiful beaches and is home to 85 endemic marine species in the surrounding waters, including the most famous resident, the humpback whale (sp. Megaptera novaeangliae). Measuring up to 52-feet in length and weighing as much as 79,000 pounds, these majestic creatures grace our presence twice a year coming and going for their 16,000-mile annual migration, coming to our waters to spawn and raise their calves in the pristine Golfo Dulce formed by the Osa Peninsula (the most biologically diverse place in the world according to National Geographic) just two hours South of Uvita.

Perhaps the most striking difference that visitors will find between our beautiful part of Costa Rica and other more touristy areas is that there is a palpable sense of community here. Here there is a great blend of local Costa Ricans, foreign expats, and visitor traffic which keeps our area fun, vibrant, and epitomizes the “Pura Vida” for which this beautiful part of the world is so well-known. Sure, things may move slightly slower around these parts, but most feel that it is a VERY welcome change when compared to the hyper-accelerated pace of life elsewhere in the world.

Come, explore, enjoy, have an adventure, and relax… With many real estate investment options to fit any size and budget, you’ll be glad you discovered this amazing gem of Costa Rica!
